The Arbequina olive is one of the regional and second dominated varietals in the south of Spain. From a chemical viewpoint, this oil is excellent due to the composition of fatty acids and the abundant presence of natural antioxidants. This particular custom crushed version of the Arbequina (with PP 596) is estate-grown and was produced in an award-winning mill in Spain.
Buttery in texture, our Spanish Arbequina features aroma notes of green leaves and grass; hints of green apple, green tomatoes and fresh walnut flavor notes come through on the palate. It finishes with a sweet, mildly astringent almond flavor and a pleasant peppery sensation.
With its buttery texture and green and walnut notes, our Spanish Arbequina is an excellent choice for making sauce or when baking. Drizzle over seafood and vegetables instead of butter, or over desserts. It is delicious when paired with our Fig, Raspberry or Pomegranate Balsamic vinegars. Whisk it with our Barrel-Aged White Wine vinegar and some Dijon mustard for a very creamy Dijon vinaigrette.
