This beautiful oil made from Ogliarola olives, also known as Cima di Bitonto, a varietal that grows in the area of Bitonto near Bari in eastern Puglia and Basilicata, southern Italy. Our Ogliarola extra virgin olive oil has been produced on one the prestigious estate near Botinoto in Puglia surrounded by twisted olive trees that were planted up to 2000 years ago.
FLAVOR PROFILES:
Same day, state-of-the-art processing of early, hand-harvested 100% Ogliarola olives result in a mono varietal extra virgin olive oil with intense-yet-harmonious notes of freshly almond and artichokes.Buttery smooth and bold, our Oglialora extra virgin is delicious in bruscetta rustica with toasted bread, a rubbing of raw garlic and a sprinkling of sea salt.
PAIRING SUGGESTIONS:
Try it over bitter lettuce salads (radicchio, arugula, chicory) and summer tomatoes with our Traditional or Organic Balsamic vinegars or on gazpacho or other chilled summer vegetable soups. This Oglialora is also perfect as finishing oil for grilled or roasted meats, fish, and poultry, in herb marinades or as a dressing for grilled vegetables.
