Olive Oil & Beyond
We've been looking for some good Pici outside of eating them fresh in Siena, and we've finally found them! These simply LOOK good, but serving and eating them brings you over the top, especially if you've been to Siena. Pici is a thick, hand-rolled pasta that originated in Tuscany and has since won over the hearts of many pasta lovers. This large and impressive pack features homey-looking bundles of dried Pici made with Certified Organic wheat; look out for the cooking time as they require at least 20 minutes.
Similar in shape to spaghetti, Pici is a versatile shape. In Siena it is traditionally served simply "all'aglione," with extra virgin olive oil, tomatoes, garlic and hot pepper. We love our Italian Organic Moraiolo extra virgin olive oil when we prepare the Pici this way. Our Pici are equally as delicious served with a meat ragu or other hearty sauce and finished with a drizzle of our Black Truffle infused extra virgin olive oil.
